Whittaker-Baldridge HC at Holden Beach

August 20 - August 27, 2005

Our second week at Holden was with our homechurch. The Mayners, Boyers, Amy Mumaw, Harringtons were with us in a new house on the east side of the beach. It was a great house. BUT being so far from the beach (about .40 mile) we encountered bugs and a great desire to NOT go to the beach.

Todd's purpose: finish the most recent Harry Potter book.

Matt's purpose: Not to strangle any of his three girls! : ) Here he is pretending to get MacKenzie. "There's a new sheriff in town!" became the new hilarious phrase.

MacKenzie when not being strangled. She's too pretty to be mad at.

Kaia (almost 5) and Rebekah (almost 4) on the way to be beach.

Matt kept the music scene up for us at the beach.

As we tell our children - when they go to bed... we have fun.. chocolate... candy... movies... Here's evidence.

Laura thinks it all a bit funny!

Kaia crashes after shopping...this is in the kitchen entry area. A busy place. But that didn't seem to bother Kaia.

This is Kaia after her nap! Maybe a nap was a bad idea!

I cannot remember what this was about

Whittakers outside "The House of Blues"

Right next to "The House..." was an expensive alligator exhibit. You could pay $20 a head to see them from farther away than this picture. Thank goodness for digital zoom!! Saved us $80.

On the way home, it's always quiet! Tired kids and videos make a rode trip ALOT easier!

Wrights at Holden Beach

Holden Beach Vacation with Wrights - August 13-20, 2005
Katie, Emily, Rebekah,
Nathaniel, Hannah, Ethan

Grandma and Grandpa gave all of us a week at the beach for Christmas last December. We stayed at the Spinnaker house at Holden Beach. Here is our house looking at it from the beach

As you can see below, Hannah and Emily really enjoyed sharing a room together.

It was alot of fun; although most nights I got almost no sleep due to coughing and chest congestion and being worried all night about Nathaniel's coughing. One night I awoke in a panic unable to get any air. Yikes! but I lived to tell about it. I'm sure I was cranky all week!
