Cold, cold winter - this year!

We have had more days below 20 (many below 15) degrees than we've had in the 30's. Most days it's been around 18-20. We've used all our calamity days + 2. There have been alot of in-door recesses leaving most kids wound up. On the days it gets up to 20 it feels warm. Yesterday it was 35 and felt like spring. Rebekah and I went outside without coats for a few minutes. A big difference from the biting cold when it's 5 degrees.

In spite of the coldness, we had an electric bill that was average for us for this time of year. Thanks to the new windows, the curtains in the kitchen doorways and a thermostat set at 65-66. That keeps our kitchen family room at 68-69. Very comfie with a sweater! Most around us had electric bills about $100-150 higher than normal. I'm breaking my arm patting myself on the back, right now.

Can't wait to see the difference in our bedrooms when we get the upstairs windows replaced!
